NASDAQ’s XML Data Services drastically reduce time-to-market while still offering maximum flexibility. XML Data Service is a WebService-based interface for distributors to quickly and easily offer NASDAQ data products. Using XML, a common language for structuring data that many software applications understand, distributors can create widgets and customize how they use and display NASDAQ data.

How does it work?

With the XML Data Service, NASDAQ facilitates the development process by providing a WebService spec and a test URL. NASDAQ then delivers a scalable, production-ready WebService that delivers on-demand data utilizing HTTP or HTTPS protocols.

XML Data Services is a query response system. The process begins with a simple data request from the distributor’s server to obtain information from NASDAQ’s server. NASDAQ in-turn validates the request and responds with the appropriate XML structured data. The data can then be digested by the distributor and utilized in a variety of ways including further dissemination to their customer base and visualizing the data through different interfaces.
